BIBLE VERSE : Psalm 56:4. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
LIFE POINT:
Fear is one of the greatest weapons that can weaken a believer. Fear makes us focus on the size of our problems instead of the greatness of our God. David wrote Psalm 56 at a difficult moment in his life. He was surrounded by enemies, yet he made a powerful decision: “When I am afraid, I will trust in You.”
Faith does not mean that we will never face frightening situations. Faith means that even when fear comes, we choose to put our confidence in God.
Fear May Come, But It Must Not Control You.
David said, What time I am afraid . He acknowledged that fear was real. There will be moments when we are afraid about our family, finances, health, future, business, ministry, or circumstances. But fear should never become our master.
Isaiah 41:10 says , Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.
God does not promise that we will never encounter trouble, He promises that He will be with us in the trouble.
Trust Is a Decision. David continued. I will trust in thee.
Notice the words “I will.” Trusting God is a deliberate decision.
You may not understand what God is doing, but you can still trust Him. You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you know who holds tomorrow.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
When human understanding ends, faith begins.
Praise God Before the Battle Is Over. Psalm 56:4 says In God I will praise his word.
David was not praising God because everything was already perfect. He was praising God while he was still surrounded by difficulties. There is power in praising God in the middle of the storm.
Psalm 34:1 says I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Your circumstances may change, but God’s Word remains true.
Do Not Fear What Man Can Do. David declared.
I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
People may oppose you. People may criticize you. People may try to frustrate your plans. But no human being is greater than God.
Romans 8:31 says If God be for us, who can be against us?
Your confidence should not be in people’s approval, influence, connections, or power. Your confidence must be in the Almighty God.
Remember What God Has Done. When fear comes, remember God’s faithfulness.
Psalm 77:11 says I will remember the works of the LORD surely I will remember thy wonders of old. Think about the battles God has already brought you through. Think about the doors He opened, the protection He gave, the prayers He answered, and the times He made a way when there seemed to be no way.
The God who helped you yesterday is still God today.
Psalm 56:4 teaches us that fear may knock on the door, but faith must answer it. You may be facing something today that looks bigger than you. But your problem is not bigger than your God.
Therefore, Child of God declare this loud and clear!
When I am afraid, I will trust God.
When I don’t understand, I will trust God.
When people oppose me, I will trust God.
When the future looks uncertain, I will trust God.
When the battle is difficult, I will trust God.
Because God is faithful, His Word is true, and His power is greater than anything that can come against me.
Hallelujah to the Lamb of God!
PRAYER S!
Father, in the name of Jesus, I choose to trust You. Every spirit of fear, anxiety, confusion, and discouragement, I reject in Jesus’ name. Give me the grace to stand firmly on Your Word even when circumstances are difficult. Strengthen my faith and remind me that You are with me. Every battle before me, Lord, take control. Every closed door that is according to Your will, open it; and every evil plan against my life, family, destiny, and purpose, bring it to nothing.
I declare that I will not be ruled by fear. I will walk by faith. I will trust in the Lord, and I will praise His Word. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
