Your Life Must Match Your Confession: Words Of Wisdom With Pastor Meso Dickson

post-title

Bible text: Acts 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, ‘Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?

Life point:
This passage records one of the most striking encounters in Scripture. The seven sons of Sceva attempted to cast out demons by merely repeating the name of Jesus without having a genuine relationship with Him.  The evil spirit responded,  Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?

The question was not about their identity as human beings. It was about their spiritual authority. Heaven recognized Jesus. Hell recognized Paul. But the demons did not recognize the seven sons of Sceva because they lacked a true relationship with Christ and had no spiritual authority.

This passage challenges every believer today.  Does the kingdom of darkness recognize your spiritual authority?

Spiritual Authority Comes Through a Relationship with Christ.  The demons knew Jesus because He is the Son of God. They knew Paul because he belonged to Christ and walked in God’s authority. The Bible declares in John 15:5.
I am the vine, you are the branches… without Me you can do nothing.

Beloved  no title, position, or church membership can replace a genuine relationship with Jesus.

Your Life Must Match Your Confession . The seven sons of Sceva knew the language of ministry but did not possess the life of Christ.  Many know Christian vocabulary, but God is looking for transformed lives. 2Timothy 2:19 says The Lord knows those who are His.

Spiritual authority flows from holiness, obedience, and intimacy with God.
Hell recognizes those Who Walk in God’s Power.
Paul was known in the kingdom of darkness because he faithfully preached the Gospel, prayed, suffered for Christ, and walked in the power of the Holy Spirit.

When believers live under God’s authority, the enemy recognizes the presence of Christ in them. Empty Religion Cannot Defeat Spiritual Battles. The sons of Sceva relied on borrowed authority. The result was humiliation, defeat, and shame.  The Bible says in James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Child of God  victory begins with submission to God before resisting the devil.

Beloved I encourage you to build a Reputation in Heaven.  Our greatest desire should not be to become famous among people but to become faithful before God.

Prayer, fasting, obedience, humility, and holiness develop spiritual authority.
As it is written in Luke 10:19
Behold, I give unto you power over all the power of the enemy.

The question, Who are you?  is still being asked today.
Can heaven testify that you belong to Christ? Can hell recognize the authority of Jesus operating through your life?

May we become believers whose lives reflect Christ so powerfully that the forces of darkness know they are confronting servants of the Most High God.

May God raise believers who are not only known on earth but are also recognized in heaven and feared by the kingdom of darkness because they carry the presence and authority of Jesus Christ!
Hallelujah to the Lamb of God!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. Help us not to depend on borrowed faith or empty religion, but to know You personally. Fill us with the Holy Spirit, strengthen us to live holy lives, and grant us the authority that comes through obedience and intimacy with You.  In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
